About Católica Porto Business School

Católica Porto Business School is a business school belonging to Universidade Católica Portuguesa that combines academic excellence, Porto’s unique spirit and a global mindset.

We have high-quality faculty, recognised for their academic experience and relationship with the business community. Our students and alumni bring to our campus a wide variety of backgrounds, both geographically and in terms of their training and experiences. Our staff ensures a high level of professionalism and dedication to the university community, allowing us to provide a proximity service that distinguishes us. To attest to this, our business school is part of a restricted group (less than 1%) of internationally triple-accredited Business Schools (EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB).

During its more than 35 years of existence, Católica Porto Business School has stood out not only for the differentiated and quality education it offers but also for developing cutting-edge knowledge in Economics and Management. Research at Católica Porto Business School is composed of several structures that run in parallel and are interconnected. Since 2003, Fundamental Research has been carried out by CEGE (the Research Centre in Management and Economics). CEGE’s mission is to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in economics and management, promote a culture of excellence in research, produce research that impacts society and policy-making, and disseminate its research results to the scientific community and society in general.

Concerning the transfer of knowledge to society, the School has been innovative and even a pioneer in how it approaches the community and its relationship with the business community.
Research at CEGE is intertwined with the strategic goals of Católica Porto Business School of global education, as well as business interrelations. That is why CEGE produces research generally in connection with researchers from international schools, focuses on international and well-recognised outlets for its research, and bridges with four knowledge transfer centres primarily focused on practice-oriented research:

- S.Lab (Service Management Lab)
- LEAD.Lab (Leadership Lab)
- INSURE.Hub (INnovation in SUstainability and REgeneration Hub)
- Ethics Forum

Due to its humanistic values, Católica Porto Business School has been a leader since its inception in issues related to ethics, governance, sustainability, and responsible leadership, determining factors for the success and reputation of organisations. We have deeply rooted values centred on the human person, excellence, and experimentation. We focus on the development of individuals who combine technical and scientific knowledge with transversal skills, always with a strong connection to practice.

The School's values, mission and vision are translated into our strategy through three axes that frame the fundamental activities of teaching and learning, research, and service and social responsibility: impactful innovation, connections with practice, and global mindset. We belong to a national University in Portugal and to a very close-knit, multidisciplinary campus, which provides synergies and unique opportunities for co-creation, research, and innovation.
